Autism Assessments

Diagnostic autism assessments are multi-disciplinary, which means they are conducted by two clinicians: a PSI Chartered Senior Clinical Psychologist and CORU registered Senior Speech and Language Therapists or Occupational Therapists. Assessment includes the Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised (ADI-R) conducted by video call with parents/caregivers, Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) which is a face to face assessment with the child or young person, review of any previous reports, a developmental interview with parents/caregivers, an interview with the young person where appropriate, review of feedback from school and liaison with other professionals where relevant. Reports feature recommendations for service provision as well as educational recommendations regarding school placements, Special Needs Assistant support, etc. Price includes a feedback session via video call with parents/caregivers. These assessments follow best practice guidelines and will be accepted the HSE and/or Department of Education.

If relevant, a cognitive (IQ) assessment can also be carried out, depending on the developmental stage of the child and how ready they are for table-top assessment. For information on fees for this, please contact us on info@suaspsychology.ie
